The 80's
Training in the Arts and Disciplines continued with Lok Hop Bak Fa (6 Harmonies 8 Methods), Tai Chi Chuan (Grand Ultimate Fist), Tao An Pai (Tao Style) and Chi Kung.
Teaching to the public began with working within the community of National City, California. The primary focus was to influence 'at risk' youth towards a life away from the prevalent gang activities, drug and alcohol abuse.
Classes were extremely demanding, challenging and considered "old school martial arts --- just next to self-torture".

The Fundamental Teachings were focused towards the Youth:
1. The 8 Keys: Respect, Endurance, Confidence, Honesty, Patience, Humility, Compassion, Education 2. Train as much as possible, keep school grades high, no fighting, gang activities, drugs or alcohol abuse 3. Use the Martial Arts as a way to become aware of your positive characteristics and to strengthen them 4. Bring your positive character into your school, family, community and personal relationships 5. Health, Happiness and Prosperity are the goals and achievable results The calling to go to Mexico came from a Vision... and the call was answered with the promise to teach in Mexico. 18 highly qualified students were ultimately told that the school would close...and that they were ready to make a difference within their communities. They were encouraged to go out and teach young children. In keeping with one of the unwritten rules of the traditional martial arts... they were told to seek other teachers so as to increase their knowledge of the Arts. Today, many of the graduates still teach and have become successful in their endeavors... both professionally and in the arts and disciplines. |
